11th Annual Ride for Help and Hope

                                     This year #WeRideInSpirit

With COVID 19 putting restrictions on essentially every public gathering, and the safety and wellbeing of all our utmost concern, we feel it is best to MODIFY (NOT cancel) the 11th Annual Ride for Help and Hope. This year #WeRideInSpirit. You can still dondate to this event! SCROLL DOWN. More details on how this years event will work are noted below.

We have decided it is best to NOT postpone the event as many of the March/ April/ May rides have already moved their events to August and many are now postponing again or canceling all together.

We feel it is crucial to continue with the event as My Breast Cancer Support (MBCS) needs our help more than ever. Cancer doesn't quit and we don't either! Local funding is needed more than ever due to the mass cancelations of fundraising events. My Breast Cancer Support depends on funds raised from the events they organize and from events like ours.

MBCS is working to ensure there is no disruption to their patients in light of the current COVID-19 situation. Their focus is getting patients what they need to stay healthy, safe, and feel secure over the next few months, helping to adjust their lives so they can protect themselves.

If you don't already know, many patients are immune compromised, and they will have to limit their travel and work in order to minimize exposure to the virus. MBCS would like to bolster their hospital-based Hope Chests to make sure all patients can get groceries for their families and have gas to get to treatment.

They would also like to increase their patient assistance funds to make sure that patients have heating fuel, running cars, and a roof over their heads, so they can focus on staying well. The needs of the community will remain the same or will likely become greater and our support during these times of uncertainty is very much needed.

Most of the NE-W4K volunteers have been involved with this event since the first annual ride. If you have been riding with us for the last 6 years, you will notice the familiar faces.  The Ride for Help and Hope Team is an amazing group of caring, fun and giving individuals.

Our volunteers work very hard to make sure your experience is friendly, efficient, fun and safe!  We have a registration crew, raffle crew, parking crew, police escorts, road angels and our BREASTOBERFEST Crew.

They work throughout the year planning for the event from putting together a safe and scenic route to collecting raffle items.  Please take a moment to thank them in recognition of their continued help.
